Blue Carmen Ceylon sapphire ring in white gold

The design of this striking cocktail ring pays homage to the founder of the Franco-American fine jewellery house, John Rubel. The Blue Carmen ring, which has a 12.74ct Ceylon sapphire at its centre, takes inspiration from a brooch called the Rockette, which John Rubel created in 1945. The brooch was itself a bejewelled tribute to a US dance troop of the same name, and this modern design is a precious reimagining of a ballerina dress. Fanning out from the Ceylon sapphire are ruffles of diamond and sapphire pavé edged with pear-shaped sapphires, all set into white gold.
