For men who seek originality and complications in a timepiece, Louis Vuitton watches has really pulled out all the stops with its 44mm rose gold model, and combined its colourful no-hands Escale Time Zone with a sophisticated minute repeater mechanism. Unlike most minute repeaters, which chime the hours displayed on the dial, this watch chimes your home time on demand, not the local time of the country you are in. Crafted in Geneva by La Fabrique du Temps, the 44mm rose gold case pays homage to Louis Vuitton's beginnings as a trunk maker, with four prominent lugs designed to evoke the metal covered corners of the steamer trunks. The colourful dial features four discs with a pyramid in the centre. The two outer discs feature 24 cities to represent the 24 established time zones, with miniature oil paintings to enliven the scene from which to select your home time by the crown. The black and white disc is for the hours - and night and day indications - and the white disc the minutes. Both the hours and minutes rotate to indicate the time without the use of hands. The sophisticated hand-wound movement made up of 447 components has a formidable 100-hour power reserve. Presented on a grey alligator strap with yellow lining, this is a watch that will not go by unnoticed.
