EDITOR'S REVIEW
In addition to the main pieces in its Campaign collection, Mappin & Webb created a limited edition of just 100 watches with a round 40mm silver case, reviving the 20th century tradition of making wristwatches in silver cases. The creamy coloured dial and the number 12 highlighted in red are both details directly inspired by the military watches in Mappin & Webb’s archives, and its historically accurate features - such as the narrow lugs and vintage-style tan leather strap - will delight collectors. The Campaign watch houses an ultra-thin Swiss mechanical hand-wound movement with a generous 42-hour power reserve, presenting the time in an authentic hour, minute and subsidiary seconds configuration across the unique creamy vellum dial. Working in conjunction with Lady Lucy French’s charity Never Such Innocence, the Mappin & Webb Campaign watch maintains its connections to the British military to this day.
