EDITOR'S REVIEW
MB&F’s Sherman robot is a table clock built by the historic Swiss clock maker L´Épée to a design brief from Max Büsser, founder of MB&F known for his sophisticated space-inspired watches. Unlike MB&F’s more complex timepieces, Sherman’s chief mission in life is to tell the time and provoke a smile. Like the WWII M4 Sherman tank from which the robot derives his name, the clock features rubber tracks on its feet. Fitted with a beautifully finished movement by L’Épée, Sherman will keep ticking for eight days at a time before he will have to be wound with a special key that fits into one of the eye sockets. The palladium and gold-plated models are both limited editions of 200 pieces.
