Speedmaster Moonwatch fans are in for a rare treat this year. The original Omega CK2998 chronograph released in 1959, one of the most sought-after vintage Speedmasters in the world, has been reissued for 2016 in a limited edition of 2,998 watches. Using the classic 1959 model as a reference, the CK2998 has been tweaked for a new generation of Moonwatch fans with a handsome deep blue colour scheme on the tachymetric scale, chronograph counters and minutes track. In deference to its famous ancestor, the Alpha hour and minute hands and the lollipop chronograph seconds hand are all faithfully replicated. Housed in a 39.7mm steel case, the manual-winding mechanical movement known as calibre 1861 is the very same movement that powered the Moonwatch to the Moon. Presented on a matching blue leather strap with beige stitching, Moonwatch collectors will be delighted to discover its earthly price tag of £4,100.
