EDITOR'S REVIEW
Hong Kong jewellery designer Anita So revives the tradition of the lorgnette - those dainty eyeglasses or spectacles attached to a handle used by 19th century society women at the opera - for her brand Osatina. The Phoenix lorgnette features a hand-carved Burmese jadeite central stone, which hides the folding glasses and a dainty oval-shaped watch hidden among the bird’s plumage. Wrapped around the jadeite heart of the jewel, the body and tail of the phoenix are highlighted in yellow, orange and pink sapphires to recreate its association with the Sun.
