EDITOR'S REVIEW
With a unique aesthetic combining Italian style with macho military functionality, this new Panerai Radiomir 1940 Equation of Time watch is a wonderful addition to the Radiomir family. The 48mm cushion-shaped, stainless steel case has the essential robust style of this historic military watch. The matt black dial features the signature sandwich structure of cut-out luminescent indices shining through from the layer beneath. The equation of time complication, indicated with a linear scale on the dial, shows the difference between solar time and standard mean time, which can result in a watch being 15 minutes out, depending on the time of year. A date window and month indicator at 3 o'clock is balanced by a small seconds dial at 9 o'clock. The impressive 8-day power reserve, indicated on the back, is powered by the Panerai-made, hand-wound mechanical P.2002 calibre. Worn on a black alligator leather strap, this watch is limited to 200 models.
