EDITOR'S REVIEW
The Kalpa watch is the founding father of the Parmigiani watch dynasty and the first commercial wristwatch to grace the brand. Distinguished by its tonneau-shaped case, Parmigiani revisited the Kalpa in 2016 in a stainless steel case and equipped with a solid gold movement to celebrate the brand’s 20th anniversary. Made entirely from yellow gold, the double-barrel manual-winding movement ensures an 8-day power reserve and has been lavishly decorated by hand with dragon-wing patterns on the bridges. A unique piece, the cigar-brown dial features guilloché decoration and a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock as well as a small seconds counter with a date aperture. Like all Parmigiani’s watches, the leather strap is made exclusively for the brand by Hermès.
