EDITOR'S REVIEW
Piaget transports us to the sun-kissed desert gardens of the 1960s with its Sunny Side of Life creations, a spirited collection filled with exuberance and joy. The dial of this Piaget Altiplano watch is transformed by the lush foliage of exotic plant leaves. The leaves are hand-carved from a solid pink gold disc, a job that requires skilful craftsmanship to capture the natural undulations and contours of the plant. Once the raised leaves are formed, they are decorated with hand-engraved veins and their spines set with 38 brilliant-cut diamonds that sit like morning dew on each leaf atop the mother-of-pearl dial. 48 baguette-cut diamonds are set around the dial and a further 23 decorate the buckle of the white satin strap. The watch is powered by the prestigious ultra-slim 430P Piaget Manufacture manual-winding movement made in the Swiss firm’s ateliers, and only eight will be made.
