EDITOR'S REVIEW
Piaget’s famous ultra-thin watch, the Altiplano, hosts a rose in full bloom on its dial, interpreted by artisan Rose Saneuil using mother-of-pearl and wood marquetry. As a brand intimately associated with roses thanks to Yves Piaget’s passion for growing rose varieties – including the prize-winning Yves Piaget rose with 80 blush-pink petals – the theme of the dial recreates the voluptuous splendour of the flower using the ancient technique of wood marquetry. Using pale pink maple, light red and pink sycamore and lustrous mother-of-pearl to capture the splendid beauty of the petals, the only thing that is wanting is the fragrance of the rose. Presented in a 38mm white gold case with diamonds on the bezel, this watch is a limited edition of just 18 pieces.
