EDITOR'S REVIEW
There is a lot of synergy between the world of aviation and Richard Mille watches. Both rely on cutting-edge technology and innovative materials that are energy efficient, light and robust. The RM 50-02 ACJ watch is a joint project between Richard Mille and Airbus Corporate Jets - the private arm of Airbus that builds bespoke jets for high flyers. The novel case, shaped like a jet window, is constructed from the same titanium-aluminium alloy used in the Airbus jet turbine blades. To reduce weight, the watch features skeletonised and openworked surfaces, and a number of parts of the split seconds chronograph movement have been covered with a special aeronautical coating to protect the engine from corrosion. The dial glows like the colour of a cockpit, and like the customised Airbus jets for high flyers, this watch is a limited edition of 30 pieces.
This Richard Mille watch was priced at £841,000.
