EDITOR'S REVIEW
The first self-winding waterproof chronometer to display the date in an aperture at 3 o'clock, the pioneering Rolex Datejust was first launched in 1945. The now iconic timepiece, with its Cyclops lens over the date window, is synonymous with classic style as well as quality and precision. This Rolex Datejust Pearlmaster 34 jewellery watch has been set alight with exceptional diamonds and coloured gemstones. The bezel, set with 24 light pink sapphires and 12 baguette-cut pink sapphires to conincide with the hour markers, is a kaleidoscope of colour. The 34mm yellow gold case houses a 455 diamond bead-set dial. The instantaneous date at 3 o'clock is magnified 2.5 times by the Cyclops domed lens. Of equal importance as the exquisitely set jewels on the dial and bezel is the chronometric precision and quality of the movement. The mechanical COSC-certified movement, calibre 2236, with Rolex's patented Perpetual rotor, has a power reserve of up to 55 hours and is housed within a case that is waterproof to 100m. The polished yellow gold Pearlmaster five-piece link bracelet is secured with a concealed folding Crownclasp.
