EDITOR'S REVIEW
While the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall may not seem the most conventional motif for a watch dial, the Romain Jerome Berlin-DNA watch successfully creates a moving interpretation of that historic night on 9 November 1989. The 46mm black PVD-coated steel case houses the dial, which features an aerial view of the city with the Wall outlined in red and highlighted in green Super-LumiNova, and the Spree River represented in blue Super-LumiNova. Cement from the actual Wall has been integrated into the dial, and Super-LumiNova incorporated to allow the streets and open spaces to light up in the dark. Powered by an RJ001-A mechanical self-winding movement, the Romain Jerome Berlin-DNA watch is limited to 25 pieces and features a replica of the “Fraternal Kiss” by graffiti artist Dmitri Vrubel on the caseback. Recreating a night the world will never forget, in a timepiece that people will long remember.
