EDITOR'S REVIEW
Matthew Campbell Laurenza founded his M.C.L brand of fine jewellery back in 2007 and has found an exclusive niche for his “confident, colourful and eclectic” pieces, with clients ranging from Lady Gaga to Rene Russo and Annette Bening. This imposing Primordial cuff with black enamel and 16.13 carats of multicoloured sapphires belies the designer’s strong background in both architecture and sculpture. Clearly inspired by the geometry and bold lines of Art Deco, this cuff has been beautifully crafted in Laurenza’s own jewellery manufacture in Thailand where he oversees every last detail of his creations. Like any good architect, Laurenza has hollowed out the interior of the silver cuff to make it as light as possible for the wearer.
