Capturing the gossamer-thin fragility of a buttery wing, Stephen Webster's Couture Jewels Verne Collar in 18ct White Gold appears, on first glance, uncharacteristically feminine for jewellery's most rock 'n' roll designer. But look a little closer and all is not as it seems. The necklace is made up of a chain of tiny white gold bones, while the wing effect is created using a fine-knit black web, giving the collar a gothic edge. As well as being founder of his own eponymous brand, Webster is Creative Director of Garrard, the world's oldest jewellery house, and the list of famous starlets who have fallen for his edgy charm is long: Rihanna, Charlize Theron, Victoria Beckham and Anne Hathaway, to name a few.
