EDITOR'S REVIEW
Inspired by the spirit of travel, Vacheron Constantin’s Overseas collection has been revamped for 2016, and in the case of this handsome 42.5mm stainless steel model, upgraded with a new in-house chronograph calibre that bears the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva. Five years to develop, calibre 5200 is fitted with a column wheel to make the start, stop and reset functions of the chronograph move smoothly, and is equipped with twin barrels for a 50-hour power reserve. Another feature implemented across the collection is the incorporation of a soft iron ring to protect the movement from magnetic fields, and increased water-resistance to 150 metres, thanks to the screwed-down caseback, crown and pushers. In keeping with the trend for interchangeable straps, the Overseas models in stainless steel come with three different straps - a steel bracelet, a waterproof rubber strap, and a classic leather strap - which can be changed in a flash.
