EDITOR'S REVIEW
This bold and beautiful Byzantine Riviere amethyst necklace looks like it could have been designed yesterday, which makes it even more impressive because it is based on a mid-century design by the legendary Duke Fulco di Verdura, America’s high society jeweller from the 1940s all the way through to the 1960s. Ward Landrigan, former director of Sotheby’s jewellery division, bought the company in 1985 and has been continuing the Verdura legacy ever since, recreating timeless designs from the 10,000 sketches that Verdura left behind. Completing the lush colour palette on this red carpet-worthy piece are pink kunzites and green tsavorites set in gold.
