This lifelike caterpillar is one of Vhernier’s delightful menagerie of Animalier brooches. The Italian jeweller Vhernier is known for its contemporary designs with a sense of surprise and dash of Italian style. Using the "trasparenza" technique of layering stones to create brilliant colour effects, here green jade is topped with carved rock crystal. The caterpillar’s head and feet are covered with diamonds adding sparkle to this lapel-sized creature.
