EDITOR'S REVIEW
Zenith introduces a new watch to its Pilot collection designed to recreate the look and feel of the Café Racer bikers, a movement born in England in the 1920s of motorbike riders who wanted to speed up their bikes by removing any superfluous elements that would diminish the power of the engine. The pared-down utilitarian look of the Heritage Pilot Ton-Up is the leitmotif of this watch, which exudes a convincing vintage appeal thanks to the 45mm aged steel case and oversized onion crown - typical of pilot’s watches - and the large Arabic numerals and hands coated with a retro-looking beige luminescent coating. Fitted with the legendary El Primero high-frequency automatic chronograph calibre, capable of recording elapsed times to a tenth of a second, the engine on this watch will keep purring for 50 hours. An oily green nubuck strap completes its retro appeal.
