I'm in Paris for Fashion Week, as Louis Vuitton is having its catwalk show, as well as sharing its newest collections of watches and jewellery.
Now at the heart of this collection is the famous monogram pattern, that has been found on Vuitton trunks since the late 19th century, the Blossom, is the floral of the shapes, and brings a new color and life to this collection.
What's new is the addition of grey mother of pearl, and exotic hard stones, tiger's eye and Carnelian. These inlays all have a pleasing plumpness about them, that adds to the complexity of their production but gives this lovely, glossy finish, and makes them so highly tactile.
What I really like about these jewels, is that they're just so easy to wear, like these rings, which I just couldn't resist stacking.
Vuitton brings a certain charm and informality, even to these really high end Blossom watches. I really like how the mother of pearl shimmers, thanks to clever hand painting technique and a three tier system for carving petals. And this is what gives these watches a playfulness and charm, that is so very Vuitton.
I see this as a real blossoming, a new season and confidence to leave because season, and self-confidence, to Louis Vuitton's jewellery and watches.
