When you’re as good looking as the Parmigiani Tonda watches, you can wear just about anything - or nothing at all as we saw earlier this year when Parmigiani Fleurier presented its Tonda Squelette, revealing glimpses of its mechanical heart thinly veiled behind a frosted dial.
Now with the summer in full swing, it’s time to add a splash of colour to our lives. Parmigiani Fleurier gets in the mood and has given its elegant Tonda 1950 ladies’ watches a sizzling hot wardrobe thanks to its new range of couture straps in a vibrant array of colours and textures. And it’s amazing the dose of energy a simple strap can give to the personality of a watch.

The textured speckled bracelet, gleaming with silver highlights and touches of fuchsia and green against a black background, gives the classic 39mm white gold case a Pop Art edginess and a totally different character. Bang on-trend with its Tahitian mother-of-pearl dial, the calfskin bracelet picks up on the opalescence of the dial and the 84 gleaming white diamonds set in the bezel.

The high-gloss alligator scales of the hot pink or intense purple straps give these Parmigiani Tonda watches an injection of vitality and fun. Both watches for women, in white and rose gold, feature mother-of-pearl dials and diamonds on the bezel, and with the bright new straps would look stunning on a tanned arm.
Also very much in vogue this year, the colour khaki is featured on another strap with large scales to give the watch a slightly more masculine appeal. Parmigiani has also created beautifully supple calfskin straps with a very fine grain in shocking lime green to contrast with a graphite-coloured dial, or coral red with a grained white dial.
As beautiful inside as outside, these Parmigiani watches are equipped with an ultra-thin automatic movement, which gives the case a lean profile of just 8.4mm. Every last detail has been beautifully finished, including the bevelled bridges and Côtes de Genève decorations on the movement, visible on the reverse through a sapphire crystal glass.
