The iconic and proudly British brand Burberry has created a watch that perfectly captures the company's rich heritage. Bold, confident and impressively realised, the Burberry Britain immediately feels at home with the iconic products Burberry has become famous for. Be it the trench coat, a handbag or a scarf, this is a brand whose identity has always been clear to see, and the Burberry Britain watch is another classic piece of Burberry.
Something of a personal project for Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, he knew what he wanted with the Burberry Britain: "A watch based on the same design principles and craftsmanship as our iconic trench coat. The design is in the detail - all influences from the iconic Burberry trench coat, from the D-rings and trench-coloured dials, to these strong bolts that hold the case and protect the movement from the elements… It's a combination of beautiful craft with real functionality, mirroring the same attention to detail and passion that goes into everything we do as a brand."
The Britain is available in five different guises, where we see the watch take on a variety of faces, each one a reflection of what makes Burberry so unique. The Quartz has the most feminine dial, with 124 diamonds shining out from an alligator strap in that very familiar trench coat colour. The bold masculinity of the brand burst through in the sleek, black lines of the Chronograph model, with rubberised alligator strap.
With a dark and brooding Mario Testino campaign featuring actress Gabriella Wilde, art dealer Harry Scrymgeour and musician Rob Pryor, this British bulldog has arrived in style.
